Edit: Aaagh! My goodness! What a shame! My BAD...
I've corrected the title of the song.
I'm really sorry and thank you Bob for maintaining the thread.

BTW...Wikipedia explains about composition of this song.
quote >>>>>
Right after the free form piano solo, the time signature of the fanfare preceding the trumpet solo is, per-bar,
8/8 7/8 9/8 8/8 7/8 8/8
then transitions to a section in 6/8 for 6 bars...(omitted)

According to Wiki description,
the 6 measures in the intro part is probably rewritten as:
G G - F F F - r
G G - Eb Eb Eb -
D - - - - - - - r
Bb Bb - Ab Ab Ab - r
Bb Bb - G G G -
Gb - - - - - - -
(where r : rest, - : note held)
Adding an 8th rest, the score becomes simple
to understand (and to perform as well).
I hear the intro in 8ths (8/8 or 4/4 time), to be more exact than my simple chart:
r G G - F F F -
r G G - Eb Eb Eb -
D - - - - - - -
r Bb Bb - Ab Ab Ab -
r Bb Bb - G G G -
Gb - - - - - - -
I don't know where the idea in Wikipedia comes from but
I believe six 8/8 measures (obviously simple) could be the one
what the composer originally meant.
Re title correction...
I figured it was probably due to a "helpful" auto-correct..
