dashes before start of song: What meaning? How turn them off?

Every time, a song starts, there are dashes popping up, counting 1 to three, sometimes multiple times. This is NOT the count in and it is not influenced of the settings for the count in.
I could not cope to turn this popup off.
So: what about it?

That cycling icon means the player is constructing a new track for the song. When the player is ready, the count-in will start. That's just how the app works.
