Yes to all, if you tap on the Playlist name, the playlist becomes listed in the Playlist index and all songs are imported to the main list. If a song is exactly duplicated, it will not be imported ( the playlist will point to the existing.) It checks for the same title and same chords when checking duplicates and only brings in a chart which is different. It will rename if the title is the same as one already existing in your library (appends a 1...or 2 etc. to the song name) and uses that new title in the playlist so you still get the one it points to.
You could always Settings>Backup before you import until you know what is happening if you are just beginning. It is good to backup periodically. I usually do this if I am working with playlists and organizing things. I do one before and after.
If you want to delete songs in a playlist, tap on the playlist and delete one-by-one rather than using the main library list to find them. Deleting a playlist name in the playlist index only deletes the playlist, not the songs in it. (This is one reason why I backup before ...in case something goes wrong in my thinking and I end up with many unwanted songs.)
If you happen to delete the playlist name first, then want to delete the song which were in it, you could find the songs in Playlist>User songs (which lists all songs not part of the iReal book library.
If you tap on a song in the playlist, you only get that song into the main library. No playlist is created.
