Because many users have small-screen devices, it's best to only use the small font to make chords more readable in crowded measures. On shorter charts, there is usually no need to use measures of different lengths.
It is easiest when writing charts, to begin with one of the built-in templates, then delete the unused bar-lines at the bottom.
Charts are easier to read and follow when they are "square" and regular.

Please don't include tempo designations in "custom" styles. That will add a new additional style to the editor style menu for everyone who downloads your chart to their library.
If you absolutely need to suggest a tempo, add it using text.
