Don't know if there are better places to ask about permissions, but here goes:
Anyone knows why the app needs permission to "read phone status and identity"? I don't want to install stuff that are doing more than i asked for
Thanks

Hi Folks,
I just found out about iReal Pro and so fired up the Play Store in order to purchase and download the app.
Then I noticed that one of the permissions the app requires is access to: Device ID and call information...
I then expanded the permission and read further, "Allows the app to determine the phone number and device IDs, whether a call is active, and the remote number connected by a call."
I can understand that the app may have to deal with potential incoming calls, but why does it need to know the phone number of someone on the other end?
As soon as I get a satisfactory explanation, I'll be downloading this app ASAP.
Thanks,
Russ
Hi Russ,
The app requires permission to read your phone state to stop iReal Pro's playback in case you have an incoming phone call.
We don't collect your data but it is necessary for the app to work properly.
Here you find more information about the permission:
