When I was fiddling around with the chart, it seemed that the DC al Coda would cause the player to play the coda at the end of the (long and complex) form each global repeat. By using just DC, the Coda would only play once a the end of the Final.
Some jazz forms use the coda every time through the form. Perhaps it's used as a short-cut way to condense a long AB form where much of both section is the same instead of using a 1st, 2nd and sometimes 3rd ending format.
From the Glossary:

Coda
Ending bar(s) of a tune, although in jazz sometimes it is part of the form of the tune and you play the changes (chords) completely through the tune jumping to the coda each time for solos. Somewhere in the piece indicates when you jump to the coda.
