Default pausing or looping a measure

In the Ios version, I see you can stop the playback on one measure or a few and loop it...

Is this possible in the android version? I can't get it to work...

It should work. A long press on a measure will set it ready for playback; if you then long press on another measure, it will set the loop from one to the other. Touch the first measure in the loop to start playback.
A long press will stop playback. If there is empty space at the bottom, you can long press there also.

You cannot loop a single measure. If you just want to practice with one chord, make a quick new song of two measures; you can either loop them, set repeats to a high number in the player window or use repeat barlines with 10x (or whatever) in text in the last measure.
You can easily and quickly edit the two chords then save to practice a different chord.

for a workflow consideration, I find this an inconvenient oversight.

Perhaps you can find a different app that would better suit your needs and convenience.
That said, welcome to the forum.
I hope, with experience, you find a way to take full advantage the amazing utility iReal Pro provides.

well, it's a little too late for a refund - but I'll deal.

    It's not a deal-breaker it's just a weird oversight.
