Default being able to notate a Maj7b5

It would be really nice to be able to notate a Maj7b5 Chord. I am stuck using Maj7#11 instead, which implies a natural seventh, when what I really wan is a Maj7b5.

There's two kinds of mistakes you can play: The ones you notice, and the ones somebody else might notice.

If you don't want a natural seventh, then don't write the Maj. Anytime you write Maj7, it will always be a natural seventh. CMaj7+11 is C-E-G-B-F#, CMaj7b5 is C-E-Gb-B, C7+11 is C-E-G-Bb-F#, C7b5 is C-E-Gb-Bb. All of these chords are available in iRealPro. Later, Ray

    I meant to write that a Maj7b5 implies a natural fifth. How do I write CMaj7b5 (C-E-Gb-B)?

    Hi,

I didn't want to start a new thread in case the question has already been addressed somewhere. However, as a newbie, I cannot find a chord for a major 7 b5. I actually want to want to write Gma7b5/A. Okay, I am no theory expert but this is a pretty common chord shape for me. Can you help?

Thanks. I found the thread discussing this and have opted for Maj7#11. Not ideal but functional. Thanks again.

May I know why is it so hard to make Maj7b5 available? I don't want the b5 to be on top.....
