    Default Major7b5

So this chord isn't listed and its an important tension building part of an original composition that I'm making a chart of. Any suggestions for what I might substitute in it's place to get a similar sound quality?

-7b5 is the same as 1/2 dim

    It has unfortunately become a common practice to write Cma7b5 although this chord is not meant but Cma7#4 or #11. A major7 b5 would implicate a scale that also includes a perfect 4th: C D E F Gb A B C.
    DO YOU WANT THIS???
Jazz or classical - western theory is still full of redundancy and mistakes.
