    Default Lead sheet melody line

I am looking for an app like real book that has the melody ! I would like it to have the same features as real book. Key change ect and a forum for sharing tunes. Does such a thing exists ? Thanks for any help and info in advance.

As far as I know there is no app currently, and its price would have to reflect copyright fees to the composers (and lyricists.)
    Some possibilities below:

Wikifonia is free for users (however it pays copyright fees which is nice):
    http://www.wikifonia.org
    http://www.wikifonia.org/faq
For PDF export, transposing is done on the website.
But you could use an app like SeaScore or Notion which import and display musicXML files which is the format wikifonia uses:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sees...423983328?mt=8
    http://www.notionmusic.com/products/notionipad.html
Other notation apps would import musicXML also. There is some variability in musicXML implementation so check an app can do what you want it to do (like display the chords, resize them perhaps, transpose etc. easily.)

Using iReal b as a basis for adding the melody, exporting a song as a musicXML file (it will have the chords and main structure/form of the song), import into notation software (Finale etc.), then add the melody yourself.

Finale has Songbook as an iPad app for viewing files:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/fina...529531809?mt=8
(I have not tested this to check it displays chord symbols and is easy to transpose, I presume it does)

    Sibelius has Scorch for iPad:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/avid...436394592?mt=8
I use this from time to time, currently (v1.1) it is buggy but works.

Other members of the forum will have other ideas for you.

I was hesitant to post a non-Technimo product in the Forum but, since an admin. did it first... Came across this link a while back and filed it away because it wasn't what I needed. I know nothing about it, other than what it states on the website. Looks like there's no iOS version - although I guess there's probably a way to get the PDF files onto your iPod/iPhone (but don't ask me how).

I was able to use drop box but haven't found a way to store just the sheet music on my iPad.

From Dropbox app, tap on the PDF, top right is an arrow going downwards into a 'box.' Tap this and choose Open in.
(I am looking at iOS6 and the latest version of Dropbox - they changed the layout recently.)
It will need to go into an app's document area - unlike a computer where it just sits on your desktop or in a folder for any app to open it, iOS requires it to be associated with an app (inside it.)

You can also connect your iPad to iTunes and drag in your PDFs into an app.

    Does this help?

Smartmusic for mac or pc has what you want but a limited amount of music to choose from.
It's great practice tool. But latly I use ireal b more.
You can't print or save the music outside the program

    Hi,

Yes this App does now exist. It's called Melody Transposer and is currently only available for iPad. It's free to download in its basic format, however there is a modest in App purchase fee for the full version which you will need to actually transpose the Real Book tunes.

I'm afraid the huge cost of developing this App has meant that upgrades and enhancements are progressing less quickly that originally planned, however we are currently working on a blog for users to exchange files and indeed we are planning to upload packages of songs and other melodies free of charge from time to time.
    Best regards,

    Hey Martin
I look forward to checking out your app.
I think the Old-Time and Bluegrass community* would embrace it if you filled it with popular Public Domain tunes like Cherokee Shuffle , Angeline the Baker and Soldiers Joy.

*Part of the "We don't need your stinking Sony Bono copyright act" movement .

Does anyone know what happened to Melody Transposer? If it doesn't exist, why didn't it work out? Are there any other apps that do the same thing?

I can't figure out why an app like this isn't readily available by now. This would be invaluable for jam groups with instruments in different keys.
