I think the following would be a major positive addition for Irealbook:

An on-screen keyboard, which one could choose different instrument sounds for it to play, to play along with the accompaniments from the app.

Of course one can play along with IRealBook with a flute, trumpet, or whatever. But what if one is riding in an airplane? You could not then play along on an acoustic instrument, but would like to play along on the Iphone, Itouch, or Ipad itself? You should include that capability.

One should be able to adjust the volume of both the melody and accompaniment, to get a good balance between the two.

Definitely good to be able to set that play-along instrument to sound like different instruments like different saxophones, trumpet, guitar, etc.-- not only piano. Hopefully velocity sensitive for more expressivity, perhaps even some kinds of controls for pitch bend and modulation, aftertouch sensitive, etc.

(I assume your setting of Background Audio would allow one to start playback of a chart in IRealBook, then start up a different program with a keyboard (GarageBand, for instance), and play back with the IReal Book chart that way. However, then one could not see the chart any more. Also, hard to adjust the sound levels that way. It would be much better if one could play along with the chart from within IRealBook itself.

Of course that play-along onscreen keyboard should be switchable on and off, for when a user is not using it, he or she may prefer more space on the screen for the chart.

Also, if one is able to connect an external music keyboard to the IOS device, such as the Akai Synthstation 25, or others using an interface, it would be very nice to play along on the ios device, while seeing the chart in IRealBook, and its accompaniment playing back, to solo on that external keyboard, with the sound coming from the IOS device.

Will this suggestion be implemented?

Thanks again.
