Thread: Styles for 3/4 (waltz))?

    Default Styles for 3/4 (waltz))?

Has anyone ever encountered the difficulty of finding the appropriate style that will make a song in 3/4 sound normal during playback? It seems that the best solution is to convert the score to 6/8? Also, is it OK to post a question like this here?

Brian, I play several tunes (The Boy Next Door, Fascination, Someday My Prince Will Come) using Ballad-Swing at 130 bpm. Note, however, that I'm a pianist and always mute the chord instrument, which means that I'm happy with the way the drums and bass are rendered. You may like another style better because of the way it handles the chord instrument. However, I plan to try the suggestions in the links in Bob's message and see how they do for me.

Update: I tried a number of suggestions, including changing the time signature and style. After doing so, I still prefer Ballad Swing with a signature of 3/4 for playing jazz waltzes.
