Default The Sidewinder - Lee Morgan

    The Sidewinder by Lee Morgan

A bit more traditional variant than the one that was published before. I tried to stay close to the original.

That's the first time I've seen the tune accurately charted. Thank you.

Okay, I've tried a dozen ways to manipulate a chart for this booger, and tried every possible style variation, but they all fell way short. This feel isn't true to Lee Morgan's original but, until we get a "Boogaloo" setting, it's the one that sounds least lame to me. I did try to stick as close as possible to Barry Harris and Bob Cranshaw. (My main issue with versions already posted is that Cranshaw almost always plays Eb Bb D Eb, rather than Eb Bb Db Eb). So, for what it's worth:

    Sidewinder (Eb)

    Settings: Latin > Cuba > Son Montuno 2-3; Tempo = 148
And, yeah, I know it's actually "The Sidewinder"
