I need help with reading iReal pro charts - new to iReal

I've searched for "help reading ireal pro charts" and other strings and I've found nothing. How does someone who is new to iReal charts learn the notation? Is it necessary to purchase the app?

iReal pro is a chord chart app. It will (within the app) display chord charts for thousands of songs. The charts will instantly transpose into any key as desired.

iReal pro has a built-in band that will play your chart for you so you can sing or play along.

If you want to learn to play guitar, piano or ukulele, iReal pro will show you chord-fingering diagrams.
