    As you discovered, empty (blank) measures cause problems for the player feature.

    Here is how the Break (tacet) and N.C. (No Chord) is used to create silence (no chord, no drums) in current versions of iReal pro.

    https://technimo.helpshift.com/hc/en...l-break/?p=ios

    To continue from a previous measure and delay a chord change to later in a measure, slash(s) must be added to the first space(s).

    Bar Repeat Signs, Slash, N-C- - Example - Example

    It appears you were trying to include the bar with pick-up notes as the first measure of your chart. Pick-up notes are often implied in iRp charts as they actually occur in the final bar of the repeated section (sec A1, bar 8) or last measure of the repeated form.

    I added a 1 bar intro to help you with the initial pick-up notes.
    Count: 1,2,3,4|1 before the intro which starts on that last 1 with the intro’s pick-up notes on the following 2,3,4.

    This example chart is probably closer to what you had in mind.

    As you discovered, the Oval Marker (blue mark) has an entirely different purpose.

    The system I do not understand
    Clearly.

    Please review and explore everything that hides behind the question-mark (?) in a circle at the top of most any app page.

    As more features and functions have been included in iReal pro, there is a lot more to learn.

    Thanks to work on Sunday

    Unfortunately, your exemple suggest to forget the rules "One bar 4:4 is four times one time"

    Couldn't be possible to have a specific "One time" pause or "one time" silence ? For a chord progression, it is probably the smalest measure we need ?

    In addition: the NC symbol should be more "symbolic", it takes up too much space...

    Happy to help you, you are most welcome.
    Some new iReal pro users can find it daunting.

    Thanks, works well, but... no way to read

    Couldn't the symbol be less expansive? Or symply hidden ?
    A colored sign or the "Silence" symbol like on musical scores?

    HTML : &#119101

    A simple option : include the "h" for "Hidden" coult offer a lot of possibility...

    S and N (Small/Normal chord-font size)
    https://www.irealb.com/forums/showth...al-chord-font)

    Use smaller chords
    m7 = -7
    Δ7 = Δ
    ø 7 = ø

    or extend the length of the problem measure (8 spaces instead of 4) the player still won’t play more than 4 entries.

    Search “crowded” or “overlapping” for more discussion.

    Sometimes, I’ll use a simple chord for the player and write the extended chord as an alternate above for the musician.

    If the last part of an extended chord is illegible, I can repeat just that extended quality below the problem chord using text.
