Baby Coming To Town - Pokey Lafarge

Very little online about this song. I’m crediting Pokey Lafarge as the composer since he’s the oldest and really only recording I can find. (Others credit him) but I couldn’t find where Pokey himself takes credit or is officially credited.

When My Baby Comes To Town was recorded by the Modern Mountaineers in 1940
Moon Mullican, piano/vocal; Johnny Thames, banjo; Aubrey “Red” Greenlaw, guitar; Bill Mounce, bass

I can’t find a definitive attribution, but it’s likely the song was composed by Moon Mullican

There's some confusion about song titles.

Verneq Calls his post When My Baby Comes to Town. But the title of his song is Baby Coming to Town. The song title on his YouTube clip clip is Baby's Coming to Town.

Bob's post and YouTube clip are When My Baby Comes to Town.

Are these the same song with two different titles?

    Cheers,

I re-titled the thread to reflect the song's correct title.
The YouTube’s poster got the title wrong.
Other YouTubes of Pokey's recording are titled correctly.
The sung lyrics on the Pokey and Mountaineer YouTube’s are essentially the same.
The chords are ever so slightly different but I’m confident the discussion thread is now named correctly.
    Just one song here...
    Thanks for asking

    Bob,

Thanks. But confusion still exists. The attribution on the original post is Pokey Lafarge (incorrectly spelled Lagarge). He was born in 1983.

If the recording from 1940 is the same song, the attribution is wrong.

    Cheers,
    Jer

    Fixed it
The thread was started with both the song title and composer incorrect (and misspelled)
Kinda makes it hard for users to find it...
