    Default End with a staccato

Hi, anyone has any advice how you finish a song with staccato? Thank you very much 👍

    Default End with staccato

Thanks for your kind answer, Bob, but it did not help me. Either I do not get it or it is not the real solution to my problem.

Do you think I could post the whole song to you to see how the closing rhythm looks?

One Note Samba Simi Próba - Carlos Jobim

The last E chord is supposed to be the end. Do you have any suggestion?

    Thanks for your time, Bob

    Hi Istvan

It's always best to post your chart directly from your app along with your question.

The added two bars of percussion at the end of your chart confuses the player. I was unsuccessful in preventing the player from adding the “automatic ending chord” after the percussion bars.

By removing the final two measures of percussion and using the invisible END instruction, the final E sounds only once.

I used E5 to make it less “sweet”. I can’t make that cymbal crash go away in the Latin-samba style. Experiment with other styles like Latin - Bossa Acoustic or Electric which offers piano.

I added Fine so the form would play ABA as it is usually performed. (With your labeling, AB C AB).

I also set the chart's default key to match the ending chord (E).

Here is your chart with my minor edits

Here is an alternate ending including a percussion interlude

    Default End with staccato

    Hi Bob,

Thank you for your precious help. I do appreciate it.

I see you like this topic since it is Jobim…. Me too.

Your change is accepted with pleasure (thanks for your time spent on it), but it is still not a staccato ending that I am searching for, which would perform a very impressive (you might even call it pretentious) ending. A sudden stop at the end of a song is just what I am looking for.

Do you think I am doing it in vain and I should be satisfied with your excellent solution?

    Thanks again

Keep in mind that the iRp player feature was added to provide a practice tool for musicians.
That some find it useful in a performance setting, speaks to the fine work of the developer.

Over time, additional functions and features have been included in updates to the app.
    https://www.irealpro.com/version-history.

This is an ongoing process and there's a long to-do list.
Will there be a staccato, hard-stop, brick wall ending? I don’t know.
Some users would enjoy having it available.

In the mean time, users could use an AirTurn (iOS only) foot control to stop the player or A-B pedal to silence the audio.
