Multitasking does not work on Acer Iconia

The iReal b app works fine on my Android tablet. On my iPhone, I can be playing a song, and then move to another app, and the song continues to play. When I try this on the Android tablet, the player gets suspended. The player will resume when I return to the iReal B app.

Is this normal behavior on Android?

Yes, there are some multitasking issues on Android that I have not been able to resolve.
