Default It Needn't End in Tears - Iain Ballamy

    Hello guys.. and gals..

Happy to become a member of this musical world.. (Thanx to Alex for his help..)
This is my first (and who knows ?? Maybe my best) post to you..
I wanted to share with you my transcription of a tune I love, dating from the mid 1980s, written by Iain Ballamy, and appearing on Bill Bruford's band Earthworks debut album..

It Needn't End in Tears - Iain Ballamy (in Bill Bruford's Earthworks)

There sure are errors, so don't hesitate to comment and correct..

Have a nice day, or evening, or night..

    Really nice first chart.
In the Coda, instead of slashes, I'd just put a D in the first space. Unless you meant to indicate a tacet/break (not currently supported), in which case, I'd use an N.C.

    Thanx a lot, Bob..
You're right, placing a D instead of those slashes is better, at least in terms of reading and understandibg, it's clearer.. in fact the chord starts at the last beat of the measure and is continued on the next measure.. What would be needed is a tie..

What I'm not sure of, in my transcription, are the (Bb C) and the (Eb C) at the end of lines 1 and 2..
And also the repeated (Gm7b5 C F) in part B..

And btw, there are a few videos of this tune on YouTube, studio and live, plus one cover..

    Have a nice day..

Now I know, 98.5% sure, that it's (Eb D) in measure 8, and I corrected the grid and the partition..

    opus.quatre,.

It's a nice chart, but I couldn't get it to match the recording on YouTube. Maybe check the timing?

    Cheers,

Eh eh.. I couldn't synchronize it as well.. I think they play it at a tempo of 62.56.. or is it 61, 32 ?? Thé besr match I had was 62..
But do I care ?? I don't intend to use the original track as a karaoke..
Apart of using iRealPro as a background, I also entered the grid into Caustic..
    Have a nice day..

    opus.quatre,

    Maybe I wasn't clear.

I didn't mean that I couldn't synchronize playing the chart with the recording.

The time values of the chord changes at the end of the A section don't seem to correspond to what's being played on the recording.

    Cheers,
    Jer

    I see.. Thanx for clarifying..
The measure being in 4/4, I obviously cut it in 2 béats, 1 beat, 1 beat.. I can't see how else it could be..
But I might be wrong, and I would welcome and suggestion..
