Thread: Feature requests

  1. #321

    Default How about an Outro

I'd like to see an "Outtro" feature that works like the intro (which plays only once, at the beginning). This would be used to end the song after all repeats have been taken. I realize this can work by hardcoding the repetitions (e.g. 3x), but would be much better as a true function.

By definition D.C. means returning to the beginning of the piece. Using D.S. would work.
In adding the text for this, there is a button for phrases relating to D.C. and D.S. (and the number of repeats) that the player understands (so you do not have to type the phrase). Add a rehearsal letter A and segno symbol where you want it to go back to (the measure after the intro section).

Here is a reference for anyone else interested:

Are you describing a Coda? If so, this function is already in the app.
There's two kinds of mistakes you can play: The ones you notice, and the ones somebody else might notice.

I am aware that D.C. means to return to the top of the piece, but I'm not buying that that includes the Intro. Can you name a piece that is arranged that way? Even one?

D.S. doesn't solve my problem because I'm already using it at another place in my arrangements and I can't make it work twice in the same piece.

Honestly, if you can think of a tune arrangement that D.C.s back to include the Intro, I'd like to hear it. Assuming you want to put an Intro at the top of your piece where it belongs, the D.C. feature as it presently stands is useless.

I think someone else already requested the ability to rest the drummer, similar to the way N.C. rests the chord player, so I'm seconding that feature request.

iReal Pro is the most amazing iPhone app I know, and the support at this forum is outstanding.

How about a keyboard shortcut to insert the repeat sign similar to the way the shortcut for inserting a bar line works. This lets us touch typists enter chords fast. Also it would be nice if the arrow keys would let us move over the arrangement rather than a lot of mouse work.

Agree with the previous post to rest the drummer on an NC.

How about the ability to change the tempo mid song.

How about a big fat "Play" button so we could start the song easily. (This would have to be an option as it would take up a lot of screen real-estate. But it would be handy on a gig where you play a slow introduction on a keyboard and then start the song up.)

Add a Final option to the Repeat while a song is playing. It would be nice to allow an unlimited number of repeats, or a high number, allow the player to repeat as needed, then indicate when the Final repeat is.
Although the repeat count can be changed while playing, only the number set when the song began is used as the final.
