Thread: Feature requests

Thumbs up Transpose chord scales +- 1oct

As a tenor trombone planer, it could be really cool if there was a way to transpose the chord scales up an octave as we usually play in bass clef with in or above the staff, but almost never under.

For instance E-scales we have to transpose before using them, I have attached an example.

Also a feature to set the lowest scale could be very useful

Keep up the good work on this epic app

Default Jazz Swing Two/Four in new Ver 4.6 for iOS

    Hello,

I just downloaded the new update Version 4.6 for iOS. The Jazz Swing Two/Four works exactly as I requested a couple of weeks ago: bass in two during the A sections of the first and last choruses and bass in four for the B sections of the first and last choruses and all of the middle choruses with appropriate drum variations. Many thanks!

I would like to post a request to add a 'sticky' note to a BAR or Chord. Just in the way for example it is done with MS Word. A little yellow triangle in the upper right corner, which you can choose to be displayed yes or no, when the program hits that bar or note..

In this way, a lot of feature requests can be put to one, as you can yourself decide what to put into the 'sticky note'

Furthermore I think the program is GREAT.

+1, like this particular style a lot. Since you have done that part already, could we maybe have one that's just the two-beat bass? There are many trad-type tunes that this would work well on. Thanks!

First off, may I say what a grand app this is? I am running on an iPad and just getting a handle on all the capabilities. I must admit that I am new to the forum and iRealB, but have been learning about both in the last few weeks. I recently added the chord diagram download to my iPad install and really find it helpful when learning any new set of changes.

What I think would make this even more ideal, would be the ability to add chord diagrams of the user's own devising. Perhaps an area where these chords could be built and imported into the chord package.

I also would echo the earlier request for a chord section for ukulele players too.

Again, this is a great aid to my practice and learning new tunes has become much more pleasant.

    Thanks again.

    John

I'm adding this to the feature request forum... I just posted this in the iOS forum as well.

    Thanks!

    Hello everyone.

This past weekend I played a gig for a friend's mother's 70th birthday party. It was just me, my iPhone (hooked up to an amp) with iRealB, and my iPad (for the sheet music). I played for 4 hours (mostly jazz standards), and the results were great! I got nothing but compliments on the overall sound... people were astonished that my "rhythm section" lived in my phone... KUDOS :-)

iRealB did it's job flawlessly... no hiccoughs whatsoever... the tenor sax player, however (that'd be me) could use some more practice :-)

I do have some thoughts for future enhancements, however.

    - iCloud syncing support... I know this has been talked about a lot, but let me add another vote for this... I use the MacOSX version to edit the tunes and set up my playlists... it could be absolutely FANTASTIC if this just showed up on my iPhone and iPad... Keeping track of what I edited where and when is painful.

    - It would be great if I could change the tempo of a tune without restarting it. There were a couple of instances where I realized that I had the tempo set too slow, but I was well into the tune... stopping and restarting would have been very awkward.

    - More variation within the styles. After playing several ballads, the inherent "patterniness" starts to become noticeable. I know this is a tough one, but one can dream :-)

    - The ability to mark tempo changes... for instance, the ability to have a ritardando at the end of a tune. Standard music notation for this would be great!

    - The ability to mark volume changes with either a crescendo/decrescendo mark, or p, mp, f type notation

    - A style with brushes in the A part, and sticks in the B part... or some such combination (see also another post I made about being able to set styles for each section, IN, A, B, C, D, V, etc).

    - Drum fills within each style to be used leading into sections... probably marked with a double bar.

    - The ability to loop indefinitely for solos... that is... something like "loop until I tap the screen, and then play one more time through the head and take the coda". Sometimes you get inspired during a solo and 2 choruses isn't enough... :-)

    - A "Trade 4's with the drummer" style similar to the one in... what's that other program called... on yea... BIAB :-)

    - A 60's Herbie Hancock style... something that would go well with Watermelon Man or Cantelope Island :-)

    - I know it's been requested quite a bit before, but the ability to mark rests (only for the 1st/last times, not solos). For instance... having a 2 bar rest to lead into the solo section would be awesome.

    - I know it's also been requested to be able to have chords change on the 1/2 beat... A good example of wanting this is the intro and last section of "Stolen Moments".

I know that's a lot to take in, so I'll stop there.

Let me repeat... the above list is a wish list, not in any way a complaint. iRealB was absolutely wonderful on the gig. The fact that I had MY RHYTHM SECTION AND ALL MY MUSIC ON MY PHONE was miraculous. And the fact that it was 100% reliable is priceless. Thank you, Thank YOU, THANK YOU, so much for developing such a useful product.

    - Mike.

A quick request for this quite stunning app

    Stereo panning for instruments?

I use my iPad/iPhone to play guitar through jam up pro to get a great jazz sound. I then use iReal b for the chords and background when i practice/perform.

I would love to get some stereo separation on the instruments to widen the sound.

    An chance of that happening?

Oh and +1 for audiobus but you have already answered that one :-)

    Thanks

    Ben

    Hi Ben,
    Thank you for your feedback!
I'm sorry but it's not possible with current audio engine - maybe in the future as we will upgrade the system.

If the purchase goes with the logged in iTunes user, then I am having difficulty figuring out how to port my purchased extra rhythms, songs with MY chosen keys to other devices. Ie I started out on my husbands iPad, then added iReal B to my iphone, lost my iphone and replaced it, and my husband got me my own iPad. I cannot find easily way to import my "profile", settings, purchased rhythms etc. now I am a mess with some things on different devices. Advice is if there is a way to do this, make it easier.

Also, make it easier to get to the password reset link pls.

Would love option to size chords fsmaller, add ledger lines so I can write in my solos or anchor passages of a tune for a band accompanying me who does not know it they can find each other if lost, give me first notes, I remember I come in on the pick up etc

    Keep up the GREAT work!
