This is the Recado chart I like best.
Here's why. It supports the descending "guide-tone" which starts at D and goes down chromatically a half-step every two bars, seven semitones in a row!
I added that harmony-line as "slash notes" to the alt. chord line above the bars so it would transpose with the chart.

I feel that's the true essence of the tune.

I've also seen it called The Gift,

    Swing Rhumba
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HriqXA-Cqso
    and Cesar Swing.

Kinda reminds me a little of Hotel Calif. too.

Are you changing the chord and melody in the 7th bar to G7/B? The melody note in the charts I've seen are all Bb. The YouTube recordings are Gmi for the 7th and 8th bars.

Yup, 'cause the B natural in the descending line is just too sweet!
Imagine a trombone layin' down that chromatic line against the (ever so slightly) altered melody.
I can hear that <major> chord change used in the Cesar Swing Youtube https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zEEsz9nBRk0 without the guide line being emphasized.
I put the /notes in the alt chord field so they would transpose with the chart. I don't view them as slash-chord inversions.

If songs could only be played one way, there'd be no jazz.

Sounds good. Reminds me of the bass line to How Insensative.

Yeah, I can see that. That's kinda the idea.
It Don't Mean A Thing has a quick descending 6 semitone bass line as well.
Rosetta and Lover are two more tunes with long chromatic descending lines.
