I agree, this would be a useful feature. I also think that panning of the instruments would be very useful especially in a live situation. You could then either a) create a nice stereo mix for the pa or b) pan one instrument completely to one side and send it to a seperate mixer channel for eq-ing, easy volume adjustments, etc.

Thanks for a great app guys. Keep up the good work!

A quick request for this quite stunning app

    Stereo panning for instruments?

I use my iPad/iPhone to play guitar through jam up pro to get a great jazz sound. I then use iReal b for the chords and background when i practice/perform.

I would love to get some stereo separation on the instruments to widen the sound.

    An chance of that happening?

Oh and +1 for audiobus but you have already answered that one :-)

    Thanks

    Hi Ben,
    Thank you for your feedback!
I'm sorry but it's not possible with current audio engine - maybe in the future as we will upgrade the system.

Thanks for the reminder, it is on a list. We have spent some time looking into this but there is currently no easy way to implement it. We will review this in the future.
If it is essential, you could use a DAW:
    - export midi
    - export each instrument (mute the others) as an audio track then sync (should work, although I have not ever done it)
    - use a stereo spreader plugin

    Default Panning Tracks

    Panning Tracks

Each instrument in iReal Pro is created in a separate MIDI track. But the program has no built-in capability for panning the tracks left and right.

However, one can save an IReal Pro file as a MIDI. If one then opens the file in another program, the tracks will be separated.

I use Garage Band to open iReal Pro MIDI files. Each track is separate and can be panned. This is useful for making recordings that sound more stereophonically realistic.

Here's an example. I panned the bass left and the drums right. The piano is GarageBand's Grand Piano voice.

    Hi Jer,

Nice to finally hear what you sound like! Swinging and tasty. The stereo panning and GarageBand instruments sound very good and quite life-like.

    +1 here!
The different A & B section rhythms are especially tasty and effective on that tune.

    Thanks, gents.

Bob, to accentuate the difference I use a pedal on the whole A section.

The move to Garageband works well on swing tunes like this. On ballads, drum parts don't translate well from iReal Pro to Garageband, as the latter doesn't have any good brush sounds.

    Neither does iReal Pro, unfortunately.
