You made a great chart to practise for me! thanks. it sound so much nicer. If you got the time have a look at my "Just Struttin Along" (see pm), it would be great to show that to my teacher.
PS: I have 2 other songs from that book I want to learn

    joghand,

You're welcome. I get a great deal of enjoyment working out harmonies.

I don't know the melody to Just Struttin' Along, but those changes moving down stepwise the are pretty standard, so they look fine to me.

    Cheers,
    Jer

    Hello,

My teacher was so enthousiast about my new app, that she was going to buy it as well!
    We had a few questions:

    1. For Martha mier's Just Struttin Along, there's "Jazz Medium Swing" and the band plays triplets for 2 1/8 notes

    2. For Ragtime Do Si Do, the band also plays triplets, but it should play 2 1/8 notes evenly. How do I set this?

I want to buy a book with most tunes that I can find in the 1300 Jazz standards or The Gig Book thread.
The book should be fun for a 2yrs piano student. Which book do I buy? And what are the easiest jazz pieces I should tackle?

iReal pro charts can't easily show pushes, triplets, off-beat accents and syncopations.

Some users try to force the player to play half-beats.

As to references, download the GGB lead-sheets. You will learn to play chords* with your left hand and also become familiar with standards.

*remember to check out the piano-chord display function in the iReal pro app!

    Easy pieces?
Start with a tune that's already familiar to you. (there are reasons why they are "standards")

Jumping straight into the jazz end of the pool is ambitious.

    Look at this playlist too:

Nothing new is easy, 'til it is...

So if i play Ragtime Do Si Do with iRealPro, I just have to play it with triplets? To take the easy way?

The iRp accomaniment is just that, accompaniment. The lead instrument still has full expressive freedom.
Read this post again, I've added to it since your post:

This one you can use the Jazz medium swing. It indicates that the 8th notes are played in a swing feel even though they are notated as even 8ths.

This one says 'even 8ths' so it is telling you to play them as they are notated (not as a swing feel.)
So you can choose Jazz Even 8ths or Ballad Even.

Remember you can change the tempo, so making sure you play it correctly (many many times), before you choose a slightly faster tempo.

I hope you and your teacher are having fun with all this.

Thx Dflat, I will try that out. Did Bob misunderstood/nterpreted my question or am i missing something? "iReal pro charts can't easily show pushes, triplets, off-beat accents and syncopations."

Yes, I misunderstood that you were inquiring about the rhythmic "feel" of the available styles.
By "How do I set this?" I thought you were asking about altering an existing style.

I think you're off to a great start.
