Default How to make AABABA form?

    Hi all,

I have a tune that is AABA, and I wish to play the form once and then go to the top of the B section and then play it out, so that the form is AABABA.

I can't seem to get the chart to do that. What is the magic formula so that I don't have to write the bridge and A section out again?

    Thanks,

    Doc

PS.... if I want to use the ireal instruments as a song demo, I suspect I would bounce the sound file onto my Mac and then export that into Garage Band or some other sequencer? Any tricks that should know about?

    Hi Doc
In the case you describe, no coda is needed.
See if this template will work the way you want:

    AABABA - Example

Read this explaination of the Coda:

Or just put repeat signs on the B-A section and add your ending.

Try searching the Forums for "export midi" and "export audio"
There are a number of threads that may be helpful to you.

    Thanks guys.

I have a feeling I'll be using ireal pro a lot. I already have a couple of my students using it. I am on a Mac laptop, and the Mac laptop version is simple to operate with an elegant user interface. For students learning jazz it is a really handy app.

I recently bought a (formerly) expensive LG andriod phone on a Best Buy blowout just to run ireal pro. $15 for a 2013 model that was $250 at one time. Damn good price. It's a Verizon prepay phone, but I don't need minutes, just a Yi-Fi connection.

However, the andriod seems somewhat different with that small screen. I haven't messed with it yet, but one of my students was going nuts trying to figure it out.....

    Yup
There are three different but parallel universes. Mac, iOS, android.
    Each similar but slightly different.
    Each has a built-in tutorial,
    and at http://irealpro.com/support
you can compare support question answers between platforms.
As you and your student have discovered, there is a learning curve...

Yes, there is a learning curve, however there is also this helpful forum which comes to the aid of those of us who are brain dead. Well, not completely brain dead, just zombie like most of the time ....

Remember to set count, volumes, repeats for the song before bouncing. You should be able to drag the file into the tracks area in GB.
