    Default Export to mp3

    Hi,

I already praised your incredible app in my previous post.

Is there a possibility (foreseen) to export the audio output into mp3. This would be great to use my mp3 player to practice while I am not near my mac.

    That would be great.

    Cheers,

    Jens

Hello Jens, for now you would have to record the output.

    1
cable from Mac output to input and set up Garageband to record from Mac input (turn Monitor ON so you can hear it!)
    a slightly related thread here:

but obviously it is relating to output from iOS device, not iReal book for Mac. Be careful of distortion, it is a bit unusual to cable to and from the same unit!

if you have Audio Hi-Jack Pro or similar you can record directly from iReal book Mac without cables.

an up-coming update will have audio export (.wav file) which can then import to iTunes where you can transfer to iPod or where you can set import settings to MP3.

Thanks for your question. Happy gigging.

I wonder if the audio export (.wav) will work on Android devices also??

One needs to remember: mp3 is a licensed format from Fraunhofer, so developers need to spend (lots) of money to license the coding of mp3, and that's (generally) not feasible for small companies.

On the Mac you can export to WAV then use iTunes to convert to mp3 or AAC.
