It's best when measures don't wrap between systems (lines)
"V" is a player instruction that means only play this one time. A DS or DC can override that. It's usually used to indicate the extended vocal introduction sometimes found in jazz and show tunes. The V and the IN need to be followed by an A so the player knows where to return for repeats of the form.
