After recording, it should show the usual Mac save window showing the location (you can change the destination before your click Save).
If you have lost your recording, you can either use the search Find (command-F) or try clicking Record again, click Stop (to stop recording) then see where it is showing to save (you do not need to actually save it), this might be the location your other recording is in.
