This is why having this chord (dim maj7) in the library as stand alone chord is important.
The other reason is that other chords could be built with a dim maj7 using slash chords.
For ex: flamenco music often uses chords such as CdimMaj/B
Jjazzlab (backing-track desktop application, all platforms) has dimMaj7 chords.
The best workaround I've found so far is using a E7b9/G# (for a G#dim Maj7)

Now, if we could control the chord inversion............
Yes, this is another problem. I wish we could have more control over voicings and inversions
You can also try E7/F. That way IRP will play the E note in a higher position than the F note (for F dim Maj7)
