I would be great to have an alternate bass line to choose from, particularly in the blues styles. In shuffles for instance, in many songs, the bass plays mainly the root (eventually a few other notes on the last beat). That could be added as an alternate bass track that the user could select. The actual bass line motif works well only for a limited choice of songs in that style.
