MIDI beat clock sync

I jam online with NINJAM and Reaper. The way it works is everyone syncs to a click. It's helpful to have a backing track and iRealPro would be great except it's nearly impossible to start it at a reliable time. A foolproof way to sync it to the DAW would be to consume MIDI beat clock. This could be achieved via Rtp MIDI over the wifi.
