I'd like to use the alternative chord space to annotate a song with a code such as 1-2-5 which stands for first finger second string fifth position. I tried entering it but it doesn't appear. Can I not use this annotation in that position?

The Alternative chord field only displays chords just like the main chords only small, above the bar and unseen by the player. They will transpose along with the main chords.Quote:

You can use text for your purpose. Text won't transpose, but can be positioned below the main chord and also moved up to above it.
