Here I'll Stay - Kurt Weill
Here I'll Stay is from the 1948 musical Love Life, with music by Kurt Weill and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner. Lerner was temporarily disengaged from his usual partner, Frederick Loewe.
Although it's pretty much forgotten today, the show ran 252 performances. It's an allegory that follows the fluctuations of a marriage through 150 years of American history.
The tune was originally written as a ballad. I've reharmed some of it and put it in Swing Two-Four tempo.
