And yet another version! One of the first records I ever bought (and the first time I heard this tune) was 1962's "Dizzy on the French Riviera". Gillespie stayed pretty true to Jobim's original (other than playing it in G) but seems like I've spent my life fighting a losing battle over that idiotic mess in the first Real Book. Anyway, just for the helluvit:

    Desafinado (Dizzy's changes)

Settings: Jazz > Bossa Nova; Tempo = Dizzy did it about 210 but Whew!

    Unknown Composer? Are you kidding??
There's two kinds of mistakes you can play: The ones you notice, and the ones somebody else might notice.

Hmm—I suspect the first repeat is a mistake …
Here with slightly different chord values from Jobim's own arrangement in the "Jobim Cancioneiro" book
NB I expanded the first two measures just so you can see the C7b9sus, but it's still 4/4! Melody starts at measure 3

On a TV show some years ago, Herbie, Jobim and company played the four bars before the bridge like this: AMaj7 - G13+11 - FMaj7 - E7+9. Made it more interesting than playing the first four bars of the bridge twice.

The album "Jazz Samba" affected my musical growth and development in a big way.
