There's a wrong chord in "Batida Diferente" (as posted in the Brazilian 150 list). The 2nd ending (should be Bbm7 instead of Bm7). Corrected.

The Bb-7 is the chord used in the Brazilian Realbook.
Neither chord conflicts with melody at that point.
I enjoy that the B-7 shares the Eb7#11’s A (the #11)
Comparison:
B vs Bb Batida Diferente - Test
It could reflect a entry error, an intentional choice or just be a happy accident.
I don't know.
Thanks for calling our attention to it.

One of the difficulties I have with participating in this forum is that I am frequently reminded of my musical ignorance. I had never heard of this wonderful tune before reading about it today. I found a number of great performances on Youtube and now plan to incorporate it in my repertoire. One performance I really like is by vocalist Leny Andrade and a terrific trio (I wish I could piano as well as this): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9x2UA_fouWI. They use B-7 and I like the chromatic baseline that is a feature of the tune. Another one to listen to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIIyhkhTTKU.
One other observation: when I first heard the tune I realized that there was something really familiar about its harmonic structure. After a while, I realized that the A section had the same structure of the A section of "Where The Blue Of The Night" (the old Bing Crosby favorite) with some reharmonization, and the B section had the identical structure of the B section of "Satin Doll." Of course, Mauricio Einhorn's sinuous melody and the different beat (the English translation of the title) give "Batida Diferente" a completely different vibe.

Hi Bob.
I was removing duplicates from my song list, and I verify the harmonies of all songs before erasing. I noticed what looked like a wrong II-V, checked the Brazilian RB and found the chords I mentioned in the post. Since it was in the official iReal Pro forum playlist I thought I'd notify the managers, but they of course know already! :-D
There's no melody in that measure, according to Braz. RB, but I perfectly get the Bm7 thing, sounds nice!
Viva la diferente, yes!
Regards
This was the first version I ever heard https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoIcLhC-y8k
I've been playing the tune ever since—great for jam sessions
