Why is tempo linked to selection of styles?

I brought this issue up some time ago. The change in tempo with change in style is often a pain in the neck. I usually decide on the tempo of a song before I settle on a style and often go from style to style (and having to reset the tempo) until I make a decision. One thing that I do to help me out is to use the text feature to write in the tempo at the bottom of each of the chord charts I use so that if the tempo is somehow altered by iRP I can quickly reset it.

I also find the automatic tempo change a nuissance. I would prefer being able to Set the Tempo (just as we do with the Key Signature). As for indicating the tempo with text on the chart, I was able to type a "♩= xxx " notation previously, but newer versions have disallowed many of the symbols I frequently used before (which is another nuissance).
