Recording works very nicely, thank you! I've got to work out the details of how to balance iRP playback and sounds recorded by the microphone, but this new feature is terrific.

Thank you for your comment. We are glad you like it. It is very basic, but for anyone needing more, they are already exporting to GB or others.

Computers that run 10.7 can also run 10.10 and 10.11. and we would like to take advantage of the new features offered by Apple in the newer version of Mac OS X.

Is there support for an external input device for the ipad (IE Line 6, Irig etc) for the new recording feature?

We tested it with iRig, Apogee and iLink and it works fine.
However, you don't hear your connected instrument when you're recording.

For an electric guitar/bass you could take a feed from an amp or mixer into iRig (or equivalent) so you get a strong signal for recording, you will hear your instrument from the amp. (For an acoustic guitar with pickups you will be able to hear it acoustically.)

If your audio interface is compatible, you should be able to plug headphones into there and hear both iReal Pro backing and your electric guitar/bass.

Again, if you require something more complex than a simple recording, export the backing itself to GB, a DAW, Auria (iPad) or similar then record your playing in there.
